Community Groups
Let’s face it; the trend of today’s culture continues to focus more on the individual then the group. The busier we become, the less time we seem to have for real friendships.   Community groups exist for the purpose of nurturing the need we all have for authentic community, both relationally and spiritually.

An important step in anyone’s spiritual journey is to participate in a group ministry. Meeting in homes around the region, Community Groups provide a safe and encouraging atmosphere for people to build relationship with one another while also growing in their own faith journey. Get ready to experience real community; you might even have some fun in the process!

Nehemiah

“A Common Man in a Unique Position”

Nehemiah was prepared and positioned by God to accomplish one of the Bible’s “impossible” tasks. Join our group as we discover what that task was and how Nehemiah can influence our lives today in this study of the Old Testament book, Nehemiah. We will meet the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 7–9 p.m., beginning October 7th, from October through May at our home in Souderton. Bring your Bible, a notebook, and a desire to dig in and learn! For more information on the Nehemiah group, please connect with Brian and Michele Finger.

The Corinth Family

Join Jim and Barb Thomas in their Lansdale home as we lead a group study through the books of I and II Corinthians. We will take a deeper look at the beliefs of our faith and the impact those beliefs have on others. Some of the conversations might spark questions like, “Am I hanging on to things that make me stumble?” or “Am I causing others to stumble?” We will meet from 7–8:30 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday nights of the month, beginning Sept. 9th and running through June. Please bring your Bible and a notebook. Child care is not provided for this group. If you would like more information abut this group, please contact Jim & Barb Thomas.

Raising the Standard

“Godly living in our marriages and families”
Ever wonder why our marriages and families look just like the world’s? We've settled for far less than God desires in our lives, our marriages and our children.  In this study we will focus on three areas of practical, holy living: our personal walks with Christ, our marriages and godly parenting. It has been said that anything of value requires hard work. Come prepared to work hard, be stretched, and be changed. We will meet in the Hatfield home of Kevin & Diane Oberholzer on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday nights of each month at 7 p.m., beginning on Sept. 23rd, from September till June. Childcare will be provided and there is no requirement to purchase a book for the study. If you are interested in this group, please contact Kevin & Diane Oberholzer.

Becoming a Vessel of God’s Power

“. . . for the soul (who is) sick and tired of being stuck in the mundane. . .
“Women looking for hope and a good kick
in the pants . . .”
Ladies, does this sound like you? Using this practical book by author Donna Partow, in this ladies-only study group, we will learn what it means to walk daily in God’s power and then actually “do it.” Through prayer and accountability, we will begin walking out together the lessons we learn each week. Come with an expectant heart to see God stretch, grow, and use us all to further His Kingdom in our community. We will meet weekly at Bridge Community Church on Mondays at 7 p.m. beginning October 19th through the spring. You will need to purchase the book (details about this will be given after sign-ups are determined) and child care will be provided as necessary. For more information on this ladies’ group, please contact Diane Oberholzer.

Crazy Love

“God is calling you to a passionate love
relationship with Himself. . .”
“. . . The answer to religious complacency isn’t working harder at a list of do’s and don’ts – it’s falling in love with God and once you encounter His love, as Francis describes it, you will never be the same. Because when you’re wildly in love with someone it changes everything.” Together we will be challenged to leave the lukewarm Christian life behind while living out a passionate, crazy love relationship with Christ. This group is for women and mature teen girls only. We will meet every Monday night, beginning Oct. 19th at 7 p.m. at Bridge Community Church through the spring. The book, Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God by Francis Chan, will cost $10 and childcare will be provided as necessary. For more information about this group, please contact Leslie Kemper.

Staying Close

Do you and your spouse feel as though life’s busy-ness has been pulling you apart instead of together? Do you have to check the family calendar to even know what each other is doing on a daily or weekly basis? Using the book, Staying Close: Stopping the Natural Drift Toward Isolation in Marriage by Dennis and Barbara Rainey, this group will continue to talk through the issues that create “marital drift” and teach us how to pull through life together instead of drifting apart. We will meet on the 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month, from 7-8:30 p.m. beginning on Thursday, October 1st.  We will review what we have discussed thus far in the study, and continue through the book together.  The book can be purchased when you join. If you have any questions about the group, please contact Tim and Dana Wilson.

 Romans

Join us for a verse by verse study of the book of Romans. We will meet every Wednesday night, starting out at the church offices in Harleysville (573 Yoder Road) and transitioning over to the church building (983 Allentown Road, Lansdale) when the renovations are complete. This group begins Wednesday, September 9th and is slated to run until the summer months when the study is completed. If you are interested in participating in the Romans group, please contact Kent Gaerthe.
