At the heart of our church is a commitment to connect our Lansdale community with the transformative love of Jesus Christ. We strive to be a bridge, bringing together those seeking hope and those living out their faith. Through our Sunday services and core outreach initiatives—Boxes of Love and LEAP—we aim to create a welcoming environment where individuals can experience God's love, find support, and grow in their relationship with both the church and Jesus. BCC is affiliated with the Assemblies of God and teaches in accordance with the beliefs of the fellowship. Our core beliefs are as follows: Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes a child of God, according to the hope of eternal life (John 3:16; Acts 2:38-39; Romans 10:8-13; 1 John 3:1). Divine healing is an important part of the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. While we don’t always understand why God chooses to physically heal some people and not others, we believe that He still brings healing today according to His will and purpose (Isa. 53:4–5; Matt. 8:16–17; James 5:14–16). After salvation, God gives every believer the Holy Spirit to guide, empower, and remind us of the hope for a full relationship with Him. The Spirit equips us with power for life and service and grants spiritual gifts for ministry. All believers are encouraged to eagerly seek the Father’s promise—the baptism in the Holy Spirit—which was the normal experience of the early Church, as commanded by Jesus (John 14:15-27; Acts 1:4-5 & 8; Ephesians 5:18; 2 Cor 1:21-22). Just as Jesus left the earth, we trust that He will one day return for all who believe in Him. Believers are called to rest in the certainty of His coming and to share this hope with others. Paul and his wife Leslie live in Lansdale and have three children; Sarah, Jacob and Libby. Paul genuinely enjoys building stuff and has successfully gained the reputation with his kids of being able to fix almost anything they give him…so far. Pastor Jeff joined Bridge as our Family Life Pastor in June 2023. Before coming to Bridge, Pastor Jeff served as an Online Pastor for 5 years. His other experience includes developing and overseeing a ministry school for 5 years, being part of an evangelistic ministry for 5 years, and serving as a Youth Pastor for 8 years. Pastor Jeff is a graduate of University of Valley Forge where he majored in Pastoral Ministry and earned a Bachelors in Bible. Pastor Jeff and his wife Alison have 2 adopted children, Tyler and Toby, and a golden retriever. Originally from Western PA, Pastor Jeff and his family now live in Lansdale. His heart is for people and he enjoys hanging out and spending time. Pastor Jeff also loves helping people save money and get a good deal. Lisa has been attending Bridge since 2012. While she just joined staff in December, Lisa has served faithfully at Bridge since she began attending. Lisa has served on both local and Alaska missions trips, chaperoned at kids camp, led on the kids camp worship team, co-led a community group, and now leads a community group. She began serving on the worship team in 2014. Lisa and her husband, Dave, have been married for 21 years. They have 4 children, 2 dogs, and a tortoise. Lisa's hobbies include working out, junk journaling, music, and exploring new restaurants with her husband. A fun fact about Lisa is that her first solo as a singer was in the 4th grade. She sang Greatest Love Of All by Whitney Houston. In 2023 Stacey came on staff at Bridge. Before she joined the team, Stacey attended Bridge for 10 years and even met her husband here! She attended Cairn University (which, for her, included a year in Wisconsin and a semester in Uganda) and graduated with a Bachelors in Social Work. She worked as a social worker serving families in foster care and adoption after graduation until she and her husband welcomed their first son in 2019. Will and Stacey now have 2 sons and 1 cat. Stacey loves building community and helping people find their people. She co-leads a local book club for women in Lansdale, ran a play date group that fostered many relationships in the community, is on the leadership team for the Nurture and Nature Women's Ministry, and is involved in a community group at Bridge. Rochelle and her family have attended Bridge since October 2014. Though she started as the BridgeKids Director in October 2024, Rochelle has been serving in BridgeKids since January 2015. She taught in Rockin' Tots, then Kidzone, then Little Builders. Rochelle took over as the lead of Little Builders in January 2021. With a degree in Early Childhood Education, Rochelle worked for ten years in a childcare center as a preschool teacher and assistant director. She then stayed home for ten years, raising her little ones and babysitting in her home. Rochelle then spent three years working as a classroom assistant in a fourth-grade special education class until 2020, when she and her family decided to give homeschooling a shot. They loved it so much that they have continued since then.  Rochelle and her husband Bill have 3 children, Trent (and their daughter-in-law, Bailey!), Kristen, and Wayne. The Gaerthes also have a variety of pets - Duke Fluffernut the whack-a-doodle (cock-a-poo), Jarek the Ball Python, and coming soon a variety of pond fish (winner of low-maintenance pet!) Favorite hobbies of Rochelle's are reading, writing, and learning alongside her kiddos. Planning lessons and activities to make learning more fun is her heartbeat. Rochelle loves bringing these skills to the team and using them at Bridge! Helping kids know Jesus and make the Best Decision Ever is her greatest joy.  In spring of 2022, Trish joined our team and took over handling BCC’s finances. Prior to living in Lansdale, she attended Penn State and served as a Worship Leader at her college church, where she met her husband, Daniel. Trish graduated in May of 2021 and married Daniel the same month. (She actually skipped her own graduation to get married- ask her about it sometime!). In December of 2023, Trish and Daniel welcomed their first child into the world: Eden Willow! On a regular Sunday morning, Eden is generally more popular than her parents. Some of Trish’s hobbies include reading, playing piano, and gaming. However, worship is what gets her really excited! She loves serving on Bridge’s Worship Team and considers it her greatest privilege in life to make music for the Lord. Jennifer Martinelli joined our Staff in May of 2022 and serves as our Ministry Assistant and the Director of our youth workshop series, LEAP. Jennifer is a graduate of Arcadia University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with children, teens, and adults. Jennifer has worked extensively with children and teens with social communication challenges and is passionate about helping others seek their God Given Purpose and Gifts.  Jennifer lives in Lansdale and is a wife and mother of three. She enjoys biking, walking, and spending time at the beach. One of her favorite hobbies is decorating for birthday parties and her favorite food is chicken wings! Rachel has been attending Bridge since 2018. She started serving on the media team in 2021 and began her role as Media Lead in December 2024. Rachel and her husband have 2 kids, Ember and Everly, and a mini schnauzer. She loves to read, garden, and crochet. Andy grew up in Telford, PA. In 2004 he moved to Asheville, NC to start a graphic and web design business. While he was there, Andy got involved in Generation Church's children's and various other ministries. Andy moved back to the area in 2010 and started working as the bookkeeper and later the finance director of a nonprofit organization supporting the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. In 2010 Andy and his my mom, Sandi, found Bridge Community Church and started attending together. Andy has been involved in several local missions trips with Bridge over the past 2 years. Andy enjoys hiking, spending time in the woods and around water, fishing, and listening to various music genres from around the world. LIKE ARROWS IN THE HANDS OF A WARRIOR ARE CHILDREN BORN IN ONE’S YOUTH. BLESSED IS THE MAN WHOSE QUIVER IS FULL OF THEM. THEY WILL NOT BE PUT TO SHAME WHEN THEY CONTEND WITH THEIR OPPONENTS IN COURT. # **LITTLE BUILDERS** # ***4 YR-K*** # **KIDZONE** # ***Grades 1-4*** # **CROSSROADS** # ***Grades 5-7*** # **Special needs ministry** *Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it.* (Proverbs 22:6) At Bridge Community Church it is our desire to provide excellent children’s programs in a safe and secure environment where kid’s can learn about God’s love and have a whole lot of fun along the way. At BCC we value children, not because they are the future of the church, but because they are the church right now. Working with you, we have a fantastic opportunity to help them nurture friendships, learn Biblical truths, and discover that they are deeply loved and valued by God. All of our volunteers are committed to the well being and safety of each child. BCC incorporates background checks on every volunteer in a ministry involving minors. *“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.”* As the caregivers for the littlest members of our church family, we feel it is very important to pray over the children as we interact with them. In our nursery, we watch godly videos, listen to Christian music, play with toys together, read books, and enjoy snacks and drinks. *“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”*  When children join our class at 2 years of age, they are ready and eager to learn. Bible stories and basic biblical concepts are presented in interesting and interactive ways to help build a foundation on God's Word that will last a lifetime. Our morning starts with free play, and then transitions to a Bible story, reciting Bible verses, singing, coloring, and a snack. *"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."* Children move-up to this class at 4 years of age and stay through kindergarten. Lessons are presented to begin building up their Bible knowledge with their Rockin’ Tots experience as a foundation. Class structure and peer interactions help children build healthy relationships while preparing them for the school years ahead. A typical Little Builders morning includes a Bible story, songs, games, crafts, and a snack. *"Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk long the road, when you lie down and when you get up."* Welcome to the construction zone! KidZone exists to build our kids up on God’s Word. We believe that if we teach our kids to know, to memorize, and to believe The Word, they will have a strong foundation on which to build a lasting, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We break into small groups for lessons and activities that reinforce the teaching each week. This includes worship, crafts, memory verse games, discussion circles, prayer & drama. Each of these activities provides a fun environment for us to teach the kids to get the Word of God into their hearts. *“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”* Crossroads is designed to help students in grades 5-7 grow in and strengthen their faith. Through Bible study and group discussion, the students will be encouraged to take a closer look at what they believe, be challenged to go deeper with Jesus and to live their lives as godly examples to others. Crossroads provides a friendly environment and experiences that are instructional, challenging and enjoyable. Students are encouraged to use their interests and talents in service to God to experience being a part of God’s family. *Crossroads meets on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays of each month during the morning services.* We have volunteers available to provide additional support if needed for children who may need accommodations or extra help in any of our Bridge Kids classes. All families should have the ability to come to church and have their children supported. We believe that by focusing on relationship building, positivity, and flexibility we can include any child that walks through the door of Bridge. Our “Bridge Buddies” can provide 1:1 support for children and our Special Needs leaders oversee the strategies utilized. Every December, local churches and friends across the region partner together to bless families with all the ingredients needed to make a full meal during the Christmas season. You pick up the box, fill it, and deliver it to the organization of your choice. We currently provide boxes to all three locations of the Boys & Girls Club: North Penn Valley, Indian Valley, and Wissahickon Valley. During LEAP students will: **Learn** skills during their specific workshop. **Experience** new friendships and relationships. Students will be an **Apprentice** to skilled qualified leaders in each field. Finally, our goal is to help **Prepare** students for life. At LEAP, students choose a morning workshop option that focuses on a specific skill. Workshops we have offered in the past include STEM, culinary, automotive, construction, improv dramedy, crochet, sewing, and more! Explore who Bridge is, what we believe, and the essentials of spiritual growth. Explore how you fit into God’s plan in your life.* *You will receive practical tools to help develop your personal relationship with God through prayer, scripture reading, and application. Be an **Apprentice** to skilled and qualified leaders in one of the specialized workshops.  And finally, our goal is to help **Prepare** students for life. Do you have a love of cars or just want to learn how to service your own vehicle someday? Join this hands-on workshop to learn what is under the hood as well as simple, routine vehicle maintenance that ensures proper operation and vehicle safety. Ever had a story, idea, or thought stuck in your head, but didn’t know how to get it out? This one-day creative writing workshop is all about having fun, getting weird, and discovering that writing doesn’t have to be hard or boring. We’ll play games, write short stories, try imaginative prompts, and learn how writing can be a powerful way to express thoughts, feelings, faith, and creativity. ● Time to write, laugh, and share (only if you want to!) ● Small prizes, surprises, and encouragement along the way Come ready to write, imagine, and surprise yourself. Get ready to put on your chef hats because our next culinary adventure is going to be a vibrant Mexican Feast! We're not just making food; we're embarking on a delicious journey where we'll learn some fantastic, practical kitchen skills together, including mastering knife safety and cutting techniques. Think of it as unlocking your inner chef, giving you the confidence to chop, dice, and slice like a pro – no more wobbly veggies! We will also learn how to prep all our fresh ingredients and create a truly memorable meal from start to finish. It's going to be a fun, hands-on experience, and we can't wait to see what delicious creations we come up with. Do you love being active and want to get better at the fundamentals of football? This LEAP workshop will have students run through basic non-contact football drills that will culminate in a flag football game applying the concepts they learned in this workshop. This is a coed workshop and open to all skill levels. Join us for our LEAP 1-DAY sewing workshop, and learn how to upscale an old sweatshirt! We are going to learn how to breathe new life into our old sweatshirts by making patches, deconstructing, embroidering, and by adding appliques, reverse appliques, and embellishments. Students can do hand or machine sewing, sew on buttons, fuse fabric, do free motion quilting, and more! Simply, bring (or thrift!) an old crewneck sweatshirt (plain solid color if possible); you don’t need to buy a new one if you don't want to! In STEM, we look at how Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math work together to create the things we use every day.  In this year’s Leap One Day, our STEM class will be looking at how electronic devices interact with people and with other devices.  Students will study and build a bluetooth speaker to learn how electricity flows through circuits, how wireless signals move through the air, and how sound waves travel to our ears. The woodworking workshop will teach students the beginning steps to plan and create a fun woodworking project. Students will learn to prepare their project materials (including measuring, sanding, cutting, and staining) and how to safely use necessary woodworking equipment and tools. Students will learn how internal combustion engines work by disassembling and rebuilding small equipment and automotive engines. They will also perform simple, routine maintenance that ensures proper operation and vehicle safety. Do you want to be able to crochet a cute stuffed animal or other fun projects but don’t know how to get started? Join us for our Beginner Crochet workshop to learn the basics of crochet and build the skills needed to complete a project. No experience needed. Just come willing to learn. A fun, hands-on one-week camp where students explore hair, nails, makeup, henna, and skincare while learning the beauty of self-care, creativity, and confidence. Through each activity, we’ll encourage self-expression, inner beauty and a positive mindset. What’s your story? Students will participate in activities, games, and discussions that will enrich their desire to write creatively and teach helpful skills for great storytelling! In the culinary class we will be going back to the basics. Let’s learn how to make a meal plan, use that meal plan to make the meal using basic ingredients and then learn how to change a basic meal into something more. Love spontaneous comedy? Like making people laugh? Or do you just wish you were better at talking to people and thinking on your feet? This LEAP workshop introduces the basics of improv, provides an opportunity to put those principles into practice through improv games, and connects these principles to the ways it can help you on and off the stage. We develop plots, characters, and dialogue which are all created in the moment. This spontaneous art ensures no improv show will ever be the same as the next! No acting experience is necessary. Come as you are and create the unexpected! This is a hands-on workshop designed to teach students a few of the basic woodworking skills necessary for safely constructing smaller scale projects made from lumber. Students will be instructed on safe practices for using power tools such as saws, drills, sanders, routers, etc., including proper techniques specific to each tool as well as personal protective equipment. Then they will be given the opportunity to put these practices into action, building a team project for the church, and also individual projects each student will be able to take home at the end of the week.
